A natural area and a bike park in La Thuile, featuring 170 kilometres of trails and routes set against the backdrop of the Alps – Mont Blanc, the Rutor massif, Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn – naturally fosters a vibrant “culture” of mountain biking and trekking.
A 1,200-metre elevation gain is easily conquered thanks to the Funivie Piccolo San Bernardo lifts, which run even in the summer, taking you and your bike up to 2,600 metres. From there, you can soak in the stunning mountain views before starting a thrilling descent. The beauty around you revitalises both body and mind, not just from the ride but from the spectacular scenery too. The La Thuile bike park is unique in Italy for its diverse offerings, including coniferous forests, streams, waterfalls, the Rutor glacier, archaeological sites and historical landmarks.
In essence, while La Thuile thrives as a winter haven for skiers amid pristine, snow-covered landscapes, it morphs into an ideal summer destination for hikers and cyclists exploring emerald-green meadows and deep-blue lakes – a feast for the eyes, invigoration for the body and tranquillity for the mind.
The La Thuile bike park spans a purely mountainous environment, which can be divided into two altitude ranges. The upper part (2,400-1,900 metres) offers smoother, more linear terrain with green pastures and juniper shrubs. As you descend to 1,400 metres, the landscape undergoes a marked change: the gradient steepens, the forest thickens and the trails grow more winding. Your mountain-biking skills will be challenged by the steep slopes and uneven terrain marked by stones, exposed roots and counterslopes.
The La Thuile bike park is renowned for hosting numerous top-level competitions, including the Enduro and Downhill World Cup in July 2025!
But don’t worry if you’re not competing – there’s plenty of room for casual bike riders too. The La Thuile bike park offers a variety of trails suitable for every cyclist or biking family.
