The athletes arriving in La Thuile
The ski slopes of La Thuile are perfect, specialists worked hard and now only the athletes are missing. From 17th January on, they will arrive in the Aosta Valley for the Telemark World Cup.
The races, which are scheduled for Sunday 20th and Monday 21st January, will be held on the same ski slope on which Amelie Reymond (SUI) and Philippe Lau (FRA) triumphed in 2017 and which hosted the Ladies Ski World Cup in 2016. All the races will be really catchy: the famous n. 3 – Franco Berthod ski slope is a slope that must be interpreted, since it is a spectacular and demanding route. Here the athletes will have to face, first, a giant slalom, and then, a spectacular jump, a parabolic curve and a crosscountry skiing ring, right before the winning post.
Both men and women will compete in La Thuile. The Sprint race is scheduled for Sunday 20th January: there will be two manches, the first one at 10.30am and the second one at 1.30pm. The Classic race will take place on 21st January and there will be one manche only, at 11am.
La Thuile, which this year too inaugurates the FIS calendar of the TELEMARK WORLD CUP with the races of 20th and 21st January, confirms its sport attitude and its ability to organize and manage some main international events.
Ski in winter, mountain bike in summer, the territory of La Thuile is always the protagonist of impressive sport rendezvous. The next events which will take place in La Thuile are linked to the MTB world: on 22nd and 23rd June 2019 the Internazionali d’Italia and Junior Series of Cross Country and 3rd and 4th August 2019 the Enduro Absolute Italian Championships.
The races of the Telemark World Cup of 20th and 21st January will be broadcasted live.
